I decided on the title while talking to the man in the photograph. During our conversation expressed how much he enjoyed walking when the clouds came. We walked together for a while, and after he started to walk away, I took this iconic photographed of him.
- [A Place For Dreaming, Erice Sicily](https://armondscavophotography.com/product/a-place-for-dreaming-erice-sicily/) - Since the beginning I have always been attracted to an atmosphere that creates a mood in my photographs. And this was true on my trip to Sicily. My hope was to have the opportunity to photograph in such conditions. The day we arrived in Erice, which is a High Medieval town on the northwest coast of Sicily, it was bright, cool, and sunny, which was a bit disappointing, because I was hoping for a more interesting atmosphere. I woke before dawn to photograph. When I walked out the door, I stepped into a dream, a dense fog. After talking to people, I was told that it wasn’t a fog, but that the town was in the clouds. Clouds had rolled in overnight. Nothing could have satisfied my aspirations more than photographing in the clouds. That morning, I photographed one of my most exquisite series. “A Place For Dreaming” is one of those exquisite photographs.

The skies were partly cloudy, with a reddish glow, and the river was mirror calm. The reflection was perfect. I set up my camera and took this memorable photograph.

And this was true on my trip to Sicily. My hope was to have the opportunity to photograph in such conditions. The day we arrived in Erice, which is a High Medieval town on the northwest coast of Sicily, it was bright, cool, and sunny, which was a bit disappointing, because I was hoping for a more interesting atmosphere. “A Walk In The Clouds” was taken the same glorious morning as “A Place For Dreaming”. I decided on the title while talking to the man in the photograph. During our conversation he expressed how much he enjoyed walking when the clouds came. We walked together for a while, and after he started to walk away, I took this iconic photographed of him.

The lighthouse was constructed on an area of land just west of Boathouse Row. the day this photograph was taken there was a mist on which softened all the spring colors surrounding the house It was a lovely afternoon.

I photographed this view of the second bank because of the park, the cobble street the lines that from different shapes, and the grandness of the Greek revival building. This all set against a clear blue sky made this wonderful portrait of an Iconic building.

I was photographing in Cape May for several days during a cold spell. One morning I woke up and the temperature had warmed. I then walked to the beach. What was unusual was that the town was clear but every jetty had this dense fog around it. I realized that the rocks of the jetty were so cold it was crating a localized mist around them. I saw this family fishing off the jetty. And after waiting a while, their postures formed the perfect composition, especially with the fishing rods forming a triangle that disappears in the fog. The yellow slickers and bucket add the necessary touch of color.

- [Desert Storm](https://armondscavophotography.com/product/desert-storm-2/) - As I was driving through the Painted Desert in Arizona, I saw off in the distance, a possible landscape photograph. A thunderstorm was brewing with a dark cloud at the top, the ground below, and in between, a relatively clear sky and what appeared to be a large downpour of rain on the left. Deciding to photograph this wonderful scene, I set up my camera on a tripod, made all the proper adjustments to the focus and exposure settings (250mm lens, 1/125 @ F22); and then composed the image using the rule of thirds. It was already divided horizontally into thirds with the ground, clear sky, and clouds. With the thunderstorm on the left, all I needed was something strong on the right to divide the scene into thirds vertically. Seeing lightening all around, all I could hope for was a lightning strike on the right-hand side. As the sky became darker and the storm became larger, I waited and watched, looking through the viewfinder for well over an hour. Then it happened! I saw a single complete bolt of lightning, top to ground, and simultaneously pressed my finger on the shutter. I knew I captured it. It was the only chance I had. I was able to capture this incredible event.

About 6:30 that night. I grabbed my camera gear, got in my car and drove around the city from river to river. While heading back home I passed City Hall. I could not believe my eyes. I parked and walked around Until I found the perfect spot. I set the camera to have the lights star, and then I started shooting. City Hall in Fog was the result.

After the ice cream I asked him if I could photograph his shop. He was delighted. So, I set up my tripod and took this photograph. It is not only a photograph expressing the owners whimsy, but a fond memory.

It was like no other place I saw in Italy. And the fish dinner we had was a perfect ending to another extraordinary day spent in Venice.
